Stacia Nelson, Founder & CEO
Stacia Nelson is the Founder of Pivot Strategies. Stacia brings over 15 years of experience in Public Relations and Communications with Fortune 100 brands. She earned her ProSci change management certification and specializes in creating unique and tailored communications strategies to deliver messages to a variety of stakeholders. She has worked in retail, healthcare, manufacturing, and politics covering topics ranging from global security, crisis management, recalls, sourcing, sustainability, government relations, new product launches, brand marketing and strategic partnerships.
Prior to founding Pivot Strategies in 2015, Stacia led the Crisis and Corporate Communications Team for Target Corporation where she was responsible for the company’s preparedness and response to reputation and crisis situations and corporate brand partnerships. Prior to Target, Stacia led the Public Relations and Strategic Partnerships team at Cambria and was the Director of Education & Workforce Development and Healthcare Policy at the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.
Stacia earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Psychology and Spanish from Hamline University and a Master of Public Policy in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota. Stacia lives in Minneapolis with her husband and two children.

Tom Hesse, Operations & research
Tom Hesse brings 20 years of experience in government affairs, public policy research, regulatory tracking, and team leadership. Prior to joining Pivot Strategies, Tom consulted with various corporate and non-profit clients. As the Vice President of Government Affairs for the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, Tom provided leadership on issues such as tax reform, tort reform, education, energy, health care and transportation policy. Under his leadership, the Minnesota Chamber was named Politics in Minnesota’s 2011 Business Leader in Public Policy.
In his role, Tom manages Pivot's operations, finances, and public policy initiatives. Tom has a Masters of Business Administration degree with concentrations in Corporate Finance and Business Economics from Indiana University and a Bachelors of Mathematics from the University of Minnesota.
He lives in Inver Grove Heights with his two ponies, Henry and Ellie.

Angie Butterbrodt, Communications & Corporate Social Responsibility
Angie Butterbrodt has spent her career helping companies relate to their most important audiences. She’s known for leading complex projects, fostering collaboration, putting ideas into action and managing flawless execution. An ultimate multi-tasker and multifaceted communicator, Angie is happiest juggling many projects and can basically plug into any situation. At Pivot, she relies on her interpersonal charisma and instincts to manage client relationships and guide strategy on PR and marketing projects.
In her life before Pivot, Angie managed communications and public affairs at Target Corporation. She led Target’s CSR communications efforts, including advising on social and environmental reporting, and producing Target’s CSR report. Over the past 15 years Angie has led comms and PR strategy and execution across the legal, food and agriculture, and retail industries, including at Target Corporation, Land O’Lakes, and Thomson Reuters.
Angie's love of words, reading, and a good healthy debate inspired her bachelor's degree in English at St. Catherine University, where she also gained an affinity for social justice and women's issues. A native to the Twin Cities, she lives in St. Paul with her husband, Bob, two young daughters and very large Alaskan malamute, Luna.

Jody Foege, Organizational Change Management
Jody is a Prosci certified organizational change manager with a broad cross-section of skills and talents. Most recently, she led complex technology implementations at Medtronic in the human resources and supply chain spaces. She was also the voice for a number of employee trainings and an educational video. Prior to joining Medtronic, she assisted in large programmatic change efforts in the education industry, including roles at Minneapolis Public Schools, Saint Paul Public Schools, and Guadalupe Center, a successful non-profit organization in south Florida.
After graduating from Florida State University with a degree in Communication for Business, Jody kicked off her career on the other side of the planet. She became an English-language teacher to middle school students in Japan with the JET Programme and worked in educational publishing in Taiwan. During her five years in Asia, she visited an orangutan sanctuary, summited mountains at sunrise, survived commuting by scooter, became a certified scuba diver, experienced historical landmarks, made lifelong friends, traveled extensively, and fully embodied the value of leaving one's comfort zone.
Jody is a native of beautiful McLean, Virginia and has been living and playing in Minnesota for five years.

ross pringle, Change management & Communications
As an Organizational Change Management & Communications Strategist, Ross has implemented initiatives in the medical device, non-profit, and business services sectors at large corporate enterprises, smaller nonprofits, and everywhere in between. He is well-versed in the development and execution of change management & communication plans, leading change teams and activities, assessing change readiness, and delivering effective communications. Ross offers a resourceful and collaborative approach to change management and has a natural curiosity that drives everything he does.
Prior to joining Pivot, Ross worked as an IT consultant driving change management and end user adoption during technical system changes. He is also an experienced Business Analyst with knowledge in requirements gathering, process clarification, and the integration of process & technology. This mix of technical and change management experiences allows Ross to bring invaluable perspective to technology change projects.
Ross graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater with a degree in Education. After college, he worked in the nonprofit sector assisting people with disabilities in finding employment. He’ll tell you it’s the most important work of his career. His caring nature and ability to help others succeed is the foundation of Ross’ approach to the “human side of change”. When not at work, you’ll find Ross in Richfield, where he lives with his wife and daughter.

Bailey berg, talent & human resources
Bailey is responsible for the development and management of Pivot’s human resources department. She assists with day-to-day office operations, leading recruitment efforts and retention, and expanding the company culture as we grow. From hanging birthday banners to finding ways to increase employee satisfaction, she keeps our team happy and heard.
Bailey has worked in the “people” department for over 5 years, with experience in talent acquisition, employee relations and engagement, office management, and organizational and professional development.
She graduated from the University of Minnesota, where she studied Industrial and Organizational Psychology as well as the Spanish language. While studying for her Bachelor's, Bailey helped to open and manage a local bakery in South Minneapolis. Upon graduation, she spent time traveling, landing temporarily in Chicago, where she handled recruiting and other human resource objectives at multiple startups.
When not at work, Bailey is most often found planning her next travel adventure, checking out the Twin Cities eat scene, and soaking up the sun around Minnesota's many lakes.

Emily has 18 years of experience creating effective marketing communications.
Passionate about connecting and helping people, Emily's strengths lie in relationship building.
Curiosity, collaboration, hustle and organization are the cornerstones of her approach and work style.
Emily has a special interest in empowering and supporting working mothers. She used these skills in her most recent position, heading up communication outreach for PHA Wellness in St. Louis Park, MN. She also worked more than 5 years at Target and 8 years at General Mills (both Minneapolis and Philadelphia) in marketing.
Emily holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is also an EQ (Emotional Intelligence) certified facilitator and an ACC-level certified wellness coach through ICF (International Coaching Federation).
As a wife and mom to 3 young daughters, her "Hill party of 5" has many adventures together traveling, reading, enjoying music, food and the outdoors in their life together in Stillwater, MN.

TONYA WELSCH, communications
Tonya brings more than 20 years of experience in internal communications for several Fortune 500 companies. She has worked in a variety of industries including aerospace, healthcare, financial services, real estate, third-party logistics and food and agriculture.
Throughout her career, she has focused on making the complex, simple. She’s a versatile team player with a wide range of experience supporting human resources, organizational transformation initiatives, total rewards, employer branding, C-suite communications, inclusion and diversity, information technology and ERP system deployments.
She applies a change management lens to her work to ensure plans and tactics are inclusive of all stakeholders and achieve desired outcomes.
Tonya earned a bachelor’s of science degree in mass communications from St. Cloud State University and a master’s of business administration from the University of St. Thomas.
Tonya lives in Apple Valley with her husband and two children. She enjoys taking in the many summer festivals in Minnesota, concerts, family vacations to warm destinations to break up the long Minnesota winters, and cheering for her children’s sports teams.

BONNIE COYER, ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE MANAGEMENT & COMMUNICATIONS
Bonnie Coyer specializes in managing large, complex change projects and strategic communications for corporations. She is a ProSci certified organizational change manager who enjoys collaborating with teams and individuals to help create plans and communications that are clear, consistent, and professional. Bonnie has worked on everything from large scale branding and communications for an agricultural start-up to leading change management in corporate IT settings.
Before joining Pivot, Bonnie worked in non-profit communications and design for 10+ years. This work remains a cornerstone of her journey to discovering her passion for strategic communications and leading well through change. Those that know Bonnie are keenly aware of her ability to be a team player and adapt.
Bonnie has also collaborated on projects including media relations, writing, and design. Bonnie received her BA from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. She received her ProSci Change Management certification in March 2019.
When not at work, Bonnie enjoys spending time on the softball field, trying new restaurant hot spots with her husband, and spending time with her three young children and puppy.

Kate Kenevan, Communications & training
Kate Kenevan specializes in the development and implementation of strategic communication plans to help clients achieve success. Kate partners closely with organizations to understand communication needs by actively engaging business partners and key stakeholders. She brings six years of internal communications, project management and SharePoint creation experience to the team. Kate’s recent focuses have been safety, compliance and IT communication. Prior to joining Pivot Strategies, Kate spent ten years at Target.
Kate received a BA from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and her Master of Business Communications (MBC) from the University of St. Thomas.

Meaghan Lee, Communications & creative
Meaghan brings a variety of communications experience and Chicago-bred hustle to the Pivot Strategies table. After earning a Bachelor’s of Design from University of Illinois at Chicago, she applied her passion for visual language, copywriting, and digital marketing across fields including music, technology, food, and real estate.
Meaghan’s chameleonic thinking and inherent enthusiasm fuel her relationship with images and words. At Pivot, she helps clients embolden their communications strategies, amplify their digital presence, and explore engagement possibilities.
When not creating at work, you can find Meaghan traveling, tracking down alternative eats and sounds, and spending time with her fiancé.

wil taylor, creative
Wil brings 10+ years working in the creative field to Pivot, with expertise in print and digital media. Originally from Wisconsin, this Milwaukee native came to Minnesota to study graphic design at the University of Minnesota. While there, he played goalie for the Gophers Men’s Club Soccer team. After college, Wil has excelled in bringing his adaptive qualities of photography, video, and illustration to national and local brands.
Wil specializes in branding, providing complete identity needs including logo and web design, marketing materials, social media development, and brand voice. A strong believer in the power of positive thinking in the workplace, Wil regularly develops internal wellness campaigns to assist employees with effective mental health techniques.
When he’s not creating, you’ll still find Wil on the soccer field -- this time as a coach -- or on the couch binging Netflix’s latest.

matt saletta, seasonal associate
Matt is a rising senior at Tulane University in New Orleans, where he’s double majoring in Political Economy and International Development, with minors in Philosophy and German.
At Tulane, Matt is an active member of AKPsi (a co-ed professional fraternity). As AKPsi’s VP of External Affairs, Matt established AKPsi’s first public speaker series, featuring New Orleans’ Mayor, LaToya Cantrell and Walter Isaacson, the former CEO of CNN.
Matt spent his last two summers working in D.C., first as an Educational Programs Intern with the Bill of Rights Institute and then as a Seasonal Associate with Purple Strategies. As an Educational Programs Intern, he traveled to West Virginia to teach constitutional history at the National Scout Jamboree. As a Seasonal Associate, Matt researched trends in tech policy and assisted in client acquisition efforts.
In his time off, Matt loves to hike, try new restaurants, and go on road trips. As a Midwestern native, he’s excited to move back north and explore all Minneapolis has to offer.

Lynnette specializes in sustainability communications, strategy, thought leadership, and stakeholder engagement. She teaches for Boston College’s Center for Corporate Citizenship and is a Senior Fellow of Social Innovation at Babson College’s Lewis Center. As a certified Global Reporting Initiative trainer, she teaches sustainability reporting (materiality, stakeholder engagement and GRI G4) for Boston College. Lynnette spent 17 years at UPS, managing Global Reputation Management, Sustainability Communications, Executive Communications and Public Relations programs. Before joining UPS, Lynnette began her career as a journalist and managed marketing and employee communications for FedEx in the Asia Pacific Region. She spent more than a decade with global public relations agencies, posted in Bangkok, Hong Kong, and around the U.S.
Emily has a passion for organizing and executing on-the-ground grassroots campaigns. From messaging, identifying influencers and implementing strategy, Emily guides clients through the public affairs landscape. In addition, she develops and implements messaging strategies and provides media relations to a wide-range of clients. Emily is a licensed Minnesota attorney, residing in Mendota Heights with her husband and two children.
